Announcements from the Preschool

Registration begins by mail only for children currently enrolled, their siblings and Church members on February 22. Community registration begins on February 25 also by mail. Registration is ongoing throughout the summer, as long as there are spaces available. It is highly recommended that you come for a tour. Dear Two and Three Day Parents,

 

Welcome to Baldwin Community United Methodist Church Preschool. It is hard to believe that summer is ending and that a new school year is about to begin. In order to ease your child’s transition into preschool, please read the information below carefully.

 

Thursday, September 3- Meet the Teacher Night for parents ONLY. The time will be 6:30-7:00 PM for the parents of children who will attend school during the morning session. This excludes the Tuesday/Thursday morning class; please see below. The parents of the afternoon children and Tuesday/Thursday morning class will attend the 7:10-7:40 PM session. Please report to your child’s room. A welcome letter from your child’s teacher will arrive prior to September 3 with your child’s room number. If you have more than one child and only one parent can attend, you may visit each room for fifteen minutes.

 

Thursday, September 3- Meet the Director- I will hold a brief informative meeting for the afternoon parents and the parents’ of the Tuesday/Thursday morning classes from 6:30-7:00 PM in Asbury Hall. ALL other morning parents will attend from 7:10-7:40 PM. If you have more than one child, you do not need to attend more than one meeting with the Director.

 

Tuesday, September 8 or Wednesday, September 9- Introductory Days:  Children must be accompanied by an adult(s) for one hour only.  The Tuesday/Thursday classes begin on Tuesday, September 8. The three day children will attend Wednesday, September 9. All morning classes are scheduled from 9:30-10:30 AM and the afternoon children will attend from 12:30-1:30 PM.  The second day that your child is scheduled for class will be for one and a half hours only. Finally, the third day that your child attends class will be his/her first full day.

 

In the event that this is misplaced it will posted on our website www.pghbcumc.org. If you will not be able to attend these events or will be on vacation, you do not need to call the school; we will update you when you return. Thank you in advance for adhering to these specific times which will help make the start of the school year run smoothly.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Enclosed is also a health assessment form which must be filled out by your child’s physician and returned to the preschool by October 31. Children must have a current form in their file every year.

The second half of the morning class whose names begin with the letters N-Z will attend from 10:30-11:30 AM. The afternoon children whose last names begin with the letters A-M should attend from 12:30-1:30 PM. The second half of the class whose names begin with the letters N-Z will attend from 2:00-3:00 PM. On Wednesday, your child will follow his/her regular schedule (9:00-11:30) or (12:30-3:00).
